About Me
Hey there!
My name is Aidan Meehan and I’m a first-year student here at Saint Michael's College, proudly representing the Class of 2015! I was born and raised on Long Island, living in America's first suburb: Levittown, New York.
The Meehan household is consisted of myself, my parents, my two dogs Sandy and Bella and my cat Ali. Oh... I also have an older sister. Briana, a junior and swimmer at CUNY Queens College, is looking to attend Law School after her graduation in 2013. Back at home, my father works as a Police Detective and was a US Marine back in the day, while my mother comes here straight from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil! (Strange combo, huh?)
Coming to St. Mike's was one of the biggest and best decisions I ever had to make! Being so dependent on my parents and being more than 5 hours away, I thought it was going to be torture. Me? Becoming independent? NO WAY! But after visiting the campus, I couldn't resist the constant waves of generosity and kindness. I visited another two times to make sure that being far from home would be worth it... and it was! Almost being here for an entire school year, I can proudly say I am no longer dependent on my parents.
This past fall, I came in as an 'Exploratory' major. Although I had some sort of interest in the Journalism field, I also wanted to explore the different studies SMC had to offer. After just one semester, I knew Journalism was what I truly wanted, and now I’m what they call a 'Media Studies, Journalism & Digital Arts' major. (Yup, that's a mouthful!) I have not yet decided on my minor... maybe English? But I have also displayed an interest in multiple areas.
I am also a proud member of the Saint Michael's College Men's Swimming and Diving Team! I have been swimming my whole life, but I’ve been competitively swimming since I was about thirteen years old. Being a student-athlete can be tough at times, but it is a rewarding experience!
